Founded by Dr. Gladden Elliott and Dr. John Flaniken, X-Ray Medical Group has grown to a sixteen-member group and has developed into the premier diagnostic radiology group in East San Diego.

Grossmont Imaging has the latest digital technology, including state of the art breast tomography, which is utilized for both screening and diagnostic mammography. This new technology allows our radiologists to detect and further analyze suspicious findings with enhanced visibility. Our radiologists are all specifically trained in breast imaging and are on site to answer any questions or concerns about your exam. We provide specialty trained professional service in MRI and Open MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) at our locations throughout east county. MRI uses a strong magnetic field rather than X-Rays to provide remarkably clear and detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues. An Open air MRI is utilized for patients who experience claustrophobia. MRI is state-of-the-art for imaging the brain and related vessels as well as disorders of the eyes, inner ears, spine, and joints. It requires specialized equipment and expertise and allows evaluation of some body structures that may not be as visible with other imaging methods.
MRI is the most sensitive exam for brain tumors, strokes and certain chronic disorders of the nervous system such as multiple sclerosis. In addition, it is a useful means of documenting brain abnormalities in patients with dementia and it is commonly used for patients with disease of the pituitary gland. MRI can detect tiny areas of tissue abnormality in patients with disease in many parts of the body.
