Plain Film X-Ray

X-Ray Medical Group provides exceptional quality and experience in diagnostic imaging. Our plain film x-ray services are offered at Grossmont Outpatient Imaging in La Mesa CA. The chest x-ray is the most commonly performed diagnostic x-ray examination. A chest x-ray is usually done for the evaluation of lungs, heart and chest wall.

Other examples of plain films inculde x-rays of bones and joints for evaluation of trauma, arthritis and degenerative disease, x-rays of the abdomen for bowel obsrtuction, and x-rays of sinuses for sinusitis.

A chest x-ray is typically performed as the first imaging test for symptoms of shortness of breath, a bad or persistent cough, chest pain, chest injury or fever. Individuals with known or suspected medical conditions such as congestive heart failure or cancer may undergo chest x-rays to follow their response to treatment, or to determine changes that would require a change in their medical management.

How do I prepare for my x-ray?

This procedure requires no special preparation. Women should always inform their doctor or x-ray technologist if there is any possibility that they are pregnant.
